เราใช Less กับคำนามทีนับไมได เชน pollution, traffic, news และ information ตัวอยาง :

There is less traffic and less pollution.

ทีนีมีการจราจรและมลภาวะเปนพิษนอย

We've been receiving a lot less news since we switched TV providers.

เราไดรับขาวสารนอยลงตังแตเปลียนชองสัญญาณทีวี

In more conservative societies, women have less freedom than they do here.

ยิงสังคมมีความอนุรักษนิยม(ผูชายเปนใหญ)มากเทาไร ผูหญิงยิงขาดอิสระทีจะตามสิงทีพวกเธอตองการ

เราใช Fewer กับคำนามทีนับได เชน restaurants, cafes, people and bags

ตัวอยาง

There are fewer restaurants and fewer cafes.

แถวนีมีรานอาหารและคาเฟนอย

Fewer people came to the opening than we had expected so there's more food for everyone!
